**-HOMEWORK**

**math homework is always due the next day unless otherwise noted****math homework is to be completed on loose leaf paper, not in the spiral, unless otherwise noted****If your child is struggling with any of the problems on the homework, please encourage your child to just**__try__something. Your child's work is not counted as late if each problem shows evidence of good effort. We go over the work in class the following day, and your child will have the opportunity to learn strategies for the problem, and to ask questions. Also see the important note regarding struggling on HW on p. 5 of the Sixth Grade Handbook, and the additional handout from Back to School Night for additional strategies to coach your child through difficulties**For assignments that have a B, C, X designation:**

**C = Core assignment; this is the core or regular assignment, the one most students tend to do.**

B = Basic assignment; this is usually a bit shorter than the core assignment;

If you have further questions on these designations, please ask your student for clarification. We have spent a great deal of class time

discussing these. If your student can't clarify, please ask him/her to come to me with the question. Remember, we are working together to

develop your adolescent's communication, self-advocacy, responsibility, and self-reliance - vital skills our adolescents need to be developing

and using now in order to grow toward becoming capable, independent adults.
